One Prayer

on your

best first

day

alone

beneath the forest's

canopy treading

through yesterday's

leaves at your feet

be one

by the sea

barefoot with the sand

in your toes

laughing at the sea

washing your knees

be one

in the desert

with your favorite

hiking boots

laced round your ankles

and the breathtaking

vistas and snakes

and the rising

ripples of heat

be one

with the gift

you are giving
